davieG Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 http://www.thisissou...l/article.html? Sousa bids to lure Orlandi to Leicester PAULO Sousa may make an immediate return to the Liberty Stadium — in a bid to take Andrea Orlandi toLeicester City. And Swansea City are also bracing themselves for an improved offer from Nottingham Forest for midfielder Darren Pratley. Spaniard Orlandi is out of contract at the Liberty Stadium and is still yet to commit his future to the club. And Sousa is understood to be keen on making him his second signing at Leicester. Capture Orlandi, who interested West Brom in January, was given more game time under Sousa last season in which he was used in a central role more than the wide position he assumed under Roberto Martinez. Sousa did make his first capture as Leicester's new boss yesterday with the arrival of Benfica's 21-year-old defender Miguel Vitor on a season-long loan. But Orlandi would be his first permanent signing if he did follow his former boss to the Midlands. That would anger Swansea fans further after Sousa this week turned down the chance to thank them for their support during his 12 months at the Liberty. Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has denied reports Forest have submitted a new bid for Pratley. Forest saw a bid in January turned down, but manager Billy Davies is believed to be a big admirer of the 25-year-old. Davies lost the services of James Perch this week, after the midfielder — who can also play in defence — joinedNewcastle. And it seems likely that Swansea's Championship rivals will be following up their earlier interest with another bid.
goose2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Can't really remember him from last year, but after reading a little about him left sided player that can really play anywhere from left back to striker!
Jon the Hat Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 If he is free and Sousa wants him it looks like a no brainer,
Bellend Sebastian Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 This could be a good indicator of whether the Swansea players think Sousa's a massive willy puller as some of their fans would have us believe
trickettlcfc Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 I think its a good idea, he was a good performer for them last season, knows paulo and the passing game that Paulo adapted into their team last season!
MC Prussian Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 On their forums they seem to want him to go also... To be honest, whenever I visit a Swansea City forum these days, "End of The World atmosphere" does not quite describe it... They're all freaking out because they already see themselves dropping down to League Two level - and they haven't even played a bl**dy game of football yet this season... Makes Leicester fans look half-decent.
teblin Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 On their forums they seem to want him to go also... Not quite some want him to go others don't. We have players that would create the same reaction.
mikey54 Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Good at corners - didn't he score direct against Cardiff?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 On their forums they seem to want him to go also... Yeah, they're all saying how crap he is through their tears
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Out of contract, so he is free. Possibly a good signing.
MPH Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Let's have him. We are going to start sounding like one of my FM teams with all these foreign names...
StanSP Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Good at corners - didn't he score direct against Cardiff? Not sure, but Waghorn did!
SMX11 Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 I think he would be a good addition, we just don't know how Sousa gonna line the team up. We certainly require a bit a flair and he's free as well so a win-win.
Joe. Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Everything points to this one really. We haven't got much money, Sousa knows him well and Orlandi is likely to want to re-join him. I can't remember him at all so I have no idea whether he'd be useful but being linked with West Brom is never a bad thing.
Joe. Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Swansea fans are not too sad to see him to if that were to be the case. According to them he's messed them about on a contract two pre-seasons in a row waiting for something better to come in, and did little on the pitch last year. They say improvements were made, but he did little in the way of goals or assists and can't shoot for shit.
Bugg Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Can't shoot for shit? He scored 25 goals from midfield on my FM game

Bettsj2 Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 More assists than anyone else, including Dyer, Cotterill, Pratley, Britton, Allen ... despite only playing in half the games. Not to be sniffed at. Come on in!!
Ozwin Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Is he the one who completely took out Savage the other month? If so get him in.
Koke Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 He wasn't first choice at Swansea, so I do wonder why Sousa would bring in a midfielder that he never even rated in the first place.
I am Rod Hull Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Maybe its like the Peter Taylor / Junior Lewis thingy... O_o
Jimmy2Drags Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Maybe its like the Peter Taylor / Junior Lewis thingy... O_o You've spelt 'Cu*ts' wrong.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 9 July 2010 Posted 9 July 2010 Not convinced about this signing. Don't want to see many players from Swansea, after all they finished lower than us. Also not keen on signing 33 year old Amdy Faye.
